Finchley Synagogue
Finchley Synagogue or “Kinloss” is one of the UK’s largest synagogues and is centrally located at the hub of North West London’s Jewish Communities. The present buildings are poorly configured, in need of modernisation and require to be brought in line with current legislative requirements. They also do not meet the current needs of the members and the wider community.
The project involves the demolition of the original single storey structure in the centre of the site and the construction of a new 3 storey (basement, ground and first floors) block within the existing complex. The existing interior is to be remodelled to create an impressive new foyer space with lift and level circulation to all parts of the buildings, a refurbished conference and banqueting suite at basement level, and various enhancements to existing spaces and facilities within the building.
There are minor changes to the principal elevations of the buildings, with new acoustically screened ventilation plant at roof level over the new central block.
